Simple is a social content publishing suite designed to help users schedule and publish content across different social media platforms. As a UX designer, I was tasked with analyzing the app's user experience, identifying areas of improvement, and providing recommendations to enhance the app's usability.

Research

To design Simple's user experience, I conducted user research to understand the needs, behaviors, and preferences of small business owners, social media managers, and influencers. Based on my research, I identified the following user needs:

The ability to schedule and publish posts across different social media platforms

An intuitive interface that is easy to navigate

Analytics and insights to track post performance and audience engagement

Findings

A usability testing revealed several areas where Simple could improve its user experience. One of the main issues was the onboarding process. Participants found it challenging to understand how to connect their social media accounts and navigate the app's features. To address this issue, I recommended adding a tutorial or walkthrough to guide users through the process.

Another issue was the content creation process. Participants found it difficult to create and format posts in the app, especially when including images or videos. To address this issue, I recommended adding a WYSIWYG editor that allows users to create and format posts in a visual way.

Based on the findings from the usability testing, I worked on the following changes to enhance Simple's user experience:

Improve onboarding: Add a tutorial or walkthrough to guide users through the process of connecting their social media accounts and navigating the app's features.

Enhance content creation: Add a WYSIWYG editor that allows users to create and format posts in a visual way, making it easier to add images and videos to their posts.

Simplify analytics and insights: Provide a clear and concise explanation of the data presented in the analytics dashboard, making it easier for users to understand and interpret the data.

Create a templates library so users can create or choose from a library of templates

Introduce AI into the system so users have the ability to work with an AI drawing tool

Design

Based on the user needs identified in the research phase, I designed the app's user experience, including its interface, navigation, and features. The design focused on simplicity and ease of use, with a clean and minimalist interface that allows users to quickly and easily navigate the app's features.

One of the key design features of Simple is the content calendar, which allows users to plan their content strategy and track their progress. The content calendar provides a clear overview of scheduled posts, making it easy for users to see what content they have planned for the upcoming weeks.

Another key design feature is the analytics dashboard, which provides users with insights into post performance and audience engagement. The dashboard presents data in a clear and concise manner, making it easy for users to understand and interpret the data.

By focusing on simplicity and ease of use, Simple has differentiated itself from its competitors and provided a solution that meets the needs of its target audience. The design process involved user research, design, testing, and iteration, resulting in an app that is user-friendly, efficient, and effective.
