The Muslim Charity List

UX Research, flow, use cases, wireframing and prototyping

I was tasked with redesigning the user experience of a charity website called The Muslim Charity List, which aimed to provide a platform for Muslim charities to raise funds and support their causes. The client wanted a user-friendly design that would make it easy for users to donate to their preferred charity and learn about their causes.

Research and Analysis

To understand the user's needs and pain points, I conducted a user research study that involved both qualitative and quantitative methods. I conducted user interviews and surveys to gather feedback on the current design, functionality, and usability of the website. I also researched other charity websites to understand how they approached similar problems.

Based on the insights gathered from the research, I created user personas that represented the different types of users of the website. I also conducted a competitive analysis to see how other similar websites were designed and to identify best practices.

Design and Iteration

With a better understanding of the user's needs and the website's limitations, I started the design process. I created wireframes that reflected the changes needed to improve the website's usability and user flow. I also created high-fidelity prototypes to test the new design with users.

One of the challenges I faced during the design process was presenting a large amount of charity information in a clear and concise manner. To solve this, I used a modular design approach and grouped similar charities together into categories, which could be easily accessed from a sidebar menu. I also used a combination of images, videos, and infographics to present the charity information in a visually appealing and easy-to-understand manner.

I also made sure that the website was responsive and accessible, allowing users to access it from a variety of devices and platforms.

I conducted user testing sessions and gathered feedback on the new design. Based on the feedback, I made iterative changes to the design to improve the user experience. For example, I added features such as a donation tracker and a charity comparison tool to make it easier for users to donate to their preferred charity.

Final Product

The final product was a user-friendly website that made it easy for users to donate to their preferred charity and learn about their causes. The website had a clean and modern design that appealed to a wide range of users. User feedback on the website was positive, with many users reporting that it was easy to use and donate to their preferred charity. The website was also responsive and accessible, allowing users to access it from a variety of devices and platforms.
