UX Research, flow, use cases, wireframing and prototyping
I was tasked with redesigning the user experience of a banking application called UCIS, which aimed to provide users with an easy and secure way to manage their finances. The client wanted a modern and user-friendly design that would make it easy for users to navigate the application and access its features.
Research and Analysis
To understand the user's needs and pain points, I conducted a user research study that involved both qualitative and quantitative methods. I conducted user interviews and surveys to gather feedback on the current design, functionality, and usability of the application. I also researched other banking applications to understand how they approached similar problems.
Based on the insights gathered from the research, I created user personas that represented the different types of users of the application. I also conducted a competitive analysis to see how other similar applications were designed and to identify best practices.
Design and Iteration
With a better understanding of the user's needs and the application's limitations, I started the design process. I created wireframes that reflected the changes needed to improve the application's usability and user flow. I also created high-fidelity prototypes to test the new design with users.
One of the challenges I faced during the design process was presenting complex financial information in a clear and understandable manner. To solve this, I used a modular design approach and grouped similar financial information together into categories, which could be easily accessed from a sidebar menu. I also used a combination of graphs, charts, and tables to present the financial information in a visually appealing and easy-to-understand manner.
I also made sure that the application was responsive and accessible, allowing users to access it from a variety of devices and platforms.
I conducted user testing sessions and gathered feedback on the new design. Based on the feedback, I made iterative changes to the design to improve the user experience. For example, I added features such as a transaction history tracker and a budget planner to make it easier for users to manage their finances.
Final Product
The final product was a user-friendly banking application that made it easy for users to manage their finances. The application had a clean and modern design that appealed to a wide range of users. User feedback on the application was positive, with many users reporting that it was easy to use and navigate. The application was also responsive and accessible, allowing users to access it from a variety of devices and platforms.
